Cone Incense Burners Wolf Spirit Totem Incense Burner |
Bear Spirit Totem Incense Burner Shaman Cone Incense Burners Many Native Americans hold a reverence for wolves. Contrasting with European folklore, where wolves are usually depicted as evil, Native American folklore has wise wolves that teach lessons to their human counterparts. The wolf held great magic, the power of night, healing powers of the spirits, and the wisdom to instill courage. Wolf was admired for their strength, powers of endurance, and taught the tribes many skills. The hunters looked for signs of the wolf, for when game was scarce, the wolves would be gone. The Zuni believe the wolf spirit represents the East, one of the six cardinal directions; the other five are West, North, South, Up and Below. Traditionally, the wolf is a great teacher, has a strong sense of family, as well as a strong individualistic drive. Every medicine man/woman has dream spirit guides. A wolf totem can teach many lessons about life. Wolf's wisdom may include: teaching, loyalty, duty, nurturing, family, friendship, adventure, protection, survival, & solitude. |
