They are glazed in cobalt blue with gold stars of various sizes on all 4 sides. Most stars are 5 points, but there is at least one 6 pointed star, too! These mini candle holders are designed for 4 inch mini candles, or half tapers. They should hold just about any candle that is 1/2 inch in diameter. The blue porcelain candle holders measure just over one inch tall, and one inch across. We have seen the plain white porcelain holders everywhere, but thought these were very unusual mini candle holders, and just had to have them. These mini candle holders are made in Germany.
